Alaskan Bargain Hunter Month Long Giveaway!

Yeesh, Jessica over at Alaska's Best Grocery Deals is making me feel like a complete slacker. She's doing weekly giveaways to my monthly ones. Her giveaway this week? Coupon inserts. LOTS of coupon inserts! So, head over there AFTER entering THIS giveaway and check it out ;-).

Okay, this giveaway is going to be sort of...well...specific I guess, but don't worry I have a back-up plan so read on!

In honor of "National Breastfeeding Month" I'm doing something to include the "Did not or could not breastfeed" mothers in there (it just seems fair). Here's the skinny...

As of September 5, my son will officially be a year old. For any mother who formula feeds they know what this remarkable age means. It means "the age of wheening off the formula" where you can finally start to feed the little bugger milk! Even though I have quite a stockpile of formula, I'm SO looking forward to that age because then the "eating food" stage really starts to take off and I really want my son (who is HUGE heightwise, but doesn't weigh a huge amount) to start eating more solids because I think it would be good for him.

Anyhoo, to help alleviate the horrible burden of having to buy the dreaded "can" every week, I'm giving away to one lucky person 2 cans of "Enfamil Lipil with Iron Formula" (the little cans, the beginning formula for birth to 12 months, not the "Next Step" formula). Any parent who formula feeds will know how much these little unassuming cans cost, so I'll let you do the math on savings :-).

Anyone who has read this blog from the beginning will know that I'm a huge fan of Enfamil formula. My kids could only tolerate Enfamil for their nutritional needs and in all honesty? Enfamil was the nicest company to deal with to get formula samples and diaper bags and such when I'd write them letters and request things. Mind you I didn't do this with Similac because my kids couldn't tolerate the formula, so I in no way want to say they are mean or anything, since I really don't know.

This giveaway is DEFINITELY for Alaskan's only because the cost of shipping 2 cans of formula would be horrible to the lower 48.

But, here's an incentive too. I have TONS of Gerber baby cereal (the dry mix up kind...my son couldn't eat the ready mixed stuff for some reason so I stocked up on mix-up kind and went a little overboard) and lots of left over baby food that I never opened too (my son decided very quickly he wasn't going to "do" baby food unless I mashed it myself). IF you can meet me for local pick up at Palmer Carrs preferably (or say Target in Wasilla) I would be more than happy to unload this onto one lucky person as well.

NOW if you don't have children and have no desire to care about formula (I can't imagine WHY ;-), I have a back up plan for you. INSTEAD of the formula, if you win, you can request my consolation prize of a "Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair" (which works great and if you cut a little "U" into the plastic case to make a lid, you can reuse it instead of throwing out a perfectly good pet hair removal device). These are cool little devices and I picked them up for a song last March with coupons, so I have an extra one :-).

So, there you have it folks. You can enter from today August 11th through September 8th (I KNOW it's not quite a month, but it'll be close enough :-). I will use Random.org to pick the winner. I will then announce the winner September 09th and you'll have 2 days to get back to me and let me know which prize you want (so that I can mail it off September 12th...it's a Saturday, so I can go to the UPS store and leave my hubby with the kids, so I won't have to want to kill myself by the time I get done mailing it off *laugh*). If you don't get back to me in that time, I'll announce a new winner. IF you want, please leave your e-mail so I can have a way to contact you. If you don't want to leave it, just please hit the site to find out if you are the winner on the day it ends, so you don't miss out on your prize!

You can enter by leaving a comment after this post. Easy peazy! Just remember, this is for Alaskan's only, sorry to everyone else!

Enjoy and good luck!
