New AK Bargain Hunter Giveaway: Feeding America Gift Pack...

Growing up my parents thought it was important to show us the value in giving.  We spent a lot of time in my childhood selling candy bars for the Knights of Columbus, volunteering our time at soup kitchens, senior centers and other places.  If we didn't have money to donate, we always, at least, donated our time.

So, when Hamburger Helper, through MyBlogSpark, contacted me and asked if I'd sponsor a giveaway to help the "Show Your Helping Hand Campaign" and tell everyone of their program to help raise awareness and money for it, I could not turn them down.

No, I'm not a country music fan.  No, I don't use Hamburger Helper 15 times a week at my house (actually I only use it a few times a year it seems...I just prefer to cook myself :), but I'm totally behind helping those who need it.

My mom always had a saying, "If you share when you have the means, you will always have enough when you need it.  It comes back to you."  And I really believe this to be a definite truth.

Taken direct from the e-mail MyBlogSpark sent me on the subject...

"According to Feeding America, approximately 5.7 million different people receive emergency food assistance from the organization in any given week.

To raise awareness about the national issue of hunger, Hamburger Helper ® is partnering with GRAMMY ® Award-winning singer, songwriter and actor Tim McGraw to help Feeding America deliver millions of meals to local food banks through the Show Your Helping HandTM campaign. McGraw will lend his voice to the campaign through a Public Service Announcement which will be distributed nationwide. Click here to view the PSA.

Support the campaign by submitting codes from specially marked boxes of Hamburger Helper at www.showyourhelpinghand.com or by logging on to make a donation. Hamburger Helper has already donated more than half a million dollars and will contribute up to an additional $100,000 to Feeding America through this program. Don´t think one code will make a difference? The 17 cents Hamburger Helper donates per code is enough for Feeding America to deliver one meal to a local food bank.

And your friends and family can also have a chance to win an autographed copy of Tim McGraw´s "Southern Voice" CD by visiting www.showyourhelpinghand.com.""

This giveaway will be for a "Show your Helping Hand" prize pack that will include a box of Hamburger Helper, a Hamburger Helper foam "Helping Hand" and a copy of Tim McGraw's "Southern Voice" CD

Disclaimer: Hamburger Helper, through MyBlogSpark is also sending me an identical gift pack and they are making a 10.00 donation to Show Your Helping Hand for every Blogger who participates in this spark, so they'll be making a 10.00 donation to the Show Your Helping Hand campaign on behalf of the blog for participating in this program :).

I always take a minute to give what I can to the Salvation Army kettles when I see one. I donate canned goods, coats, and toys to local drives :) *Thanks* for the giveaway!

We help out by donating canned food. And by participating in Operation Shoebox, which brings toys to kids in other countries.

Right now my husband and I are unemployed and money is so tight, and I feel so sad and disappointed that we can't help out the way I am use to. But...I'm going to share whatever I can with another family, less fortunate than we are, who are in debt and struggling with some canned foods and some homemade cheer.
